About the IELTS

The test for study, work and life

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular high-stakes English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with more than 2.2 million tests taken in the past year. It is taken in either of the two forms: Academic or General Modules
IELTS assesses all of your English skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking — and it is designed to reflect real life use of English — at study, at work, and at play.

The IELTS test is developed by some of the world’s leading experts in language assessment. It has an excellent international reputation, and is accepted by over 9,000 organisations worldwide, including schools, universities, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies.

Note that to register and sit the test; a candidate must come with his or her passport photo and international passport to the test centre or scan these to us if we are the one registering you for the test.
